Is there a daily limit on driven kilometers ?

All our vehicles have unlimited kilometers and therefore no extra charge for distance driven.

What documents do I need to present when I rent a car?

A valid driving license issued by country of residence that you have held for one year or more.
Note: International driving licence is valid only when accompanied with your normal driving license.
Your passport is required as per Icelandic laws for car rentals.

A valid credit card.

Is there any unexpected cost like tax/vat to be added to the price given?

There is no hidden cost, tax/vat is included in the price given. Price depends on the amount of days selected, type of vehicle & extras selected. Extra cost will be generated due to damage to the vehicle or it´s equipment, traffic violations, parking tickets/speeding tickets etc.

What documents do I need when I pick up my car?

When will the rental contract become active?

The rental contract becomes active when you sign the contract at your arrival

Does it matter which credit card I bring?

Yes. We will always need the lessee’s ( driver’s ) credit card on file for insurance reasons.

What is the minimum rental period?

The minimum rental period is 2 full days (48 hours).

When will you charge my credit card?

All rentals are paid when booking online and are charged when booking is completed. Payment is by credit card.

You always need also a valid credit card from the lessee ( the renter ) for security and insurance reasons.

Is insurance included in the rental price?

Yes, a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is included in the rental price, which limits the driver’s liability to a certain amount. The liability amount is EUR 2.000,- for each accident. Please review the terms & conditions before booking a rental car.

Is it possible to add drivers?

Yes, you can add additional drivers at no extra cost.

How old do I have to be to rent a car?

The minimum age is 20 years old.

Can I cancel my reservation?

Cancellation policy is as follows:

 

·    Cancelation 30 days prior or more – no charge.

·    Cancelation 15 to 29 days prior – 40% charge.

·    Cancelation 7 to 14 days prior – 65% charge.

·    Cancelation 6 days prior or no show – 100% charge.

We simply ask that you let us know as soon as possible!!!

Can I make changes to my reservation?

Please send us an e-mail to [email protected] as soon as you would like to make a change.Remember to include your reservation number, which you can find in your confirmation e-mail.

Do I need to bring a credit card when I pick up the car?

Yes, you will need to bring the lessee’s (driver’s) credit card for us to put on file for insurance purposes.

Do I have to pay in advance when booking online?

All bookings are paid online and are charged when booking is completed.

What is the fuel service fee?

If the rental car is not returned with a full tank of fuel, we will charge the renter for the fuel (based on current fuel prices) + 5000 isk service fee for filling up the tank.

 

What kind of insurance do you offer?

Can I pick up or return the car outside opening hours?

Yes we are open for pick-up and drop-off 24/7 every day.

Do I need an international driver’s license to rent a car?

No, a valid national driver’s license is sufficient.

Do you offer emergency breakdown assistance?

Yes, we offer a 24/7 roadside assistance service for all of our customers. Just call our service number (+354) 611-9000 and we will help you find a solution to your problem.

Where can I get groceries for my trip?

There are several good supermarkets. We recommend either Krónan or Bónus, since they are the two cheapest options.

Where are your pick-up and drop-off locations?

At Keflavík Airport we don’t charge you extra for airport pickup and drop off.

Where will I find you at Keflavik airport?

We will wait for you in the arrival hall at the airport, holding a sign with your name on it marked with our autorental logo as well.

What is included in the rental price?

The rental price includes unlimited kilometers, 24 % VAT tax, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Plus all of the extras we offer included check extras / http://www.autorental.is/extras/

How is the price calculated?

It is very simple: You pay low season price for low season days, and high season price for high season days etc,

Do you offer FREE pick-up service?

Yes, we offer FREE pick-up service to our customers within the greater Reykjavik area and Keflavik international airport. Please put your pick-up information in the reservation – flight number / arrival time or hotel name.

We will bring your car at the selected location.

Where do I get the best price?

Our lowest prices are online so that is the cheapest and also the easiest way to book a rental car. Simple, isn’t it?
